Occupation Cozy Mystery Author, Proprietress of Fictional New Mexico

█ CASE NARRATIVE — DETECTIVE’S NOTES

At approximately [REDACTED] months ago, subject Celia Kinsey transmitted her last known newsletter communication to a large number of unsuspecting civilians. Since that date, she has not been heard from. Her inbox received no outgoing correspondence. Her subscriber list waited patiently, then less patiently, then adopted a pug and moved on with their lives.

Investigators initially suspected foul play. The evidence, however, points to a far more common culprit: the author got lost in her own fictional New Mexico.

Eyewitness accounts (unverified) suggest subject was last seen muttering something about tamales, a pug named Earp, and “just one more chapter.” Local barber and lay preacher Freddy Fernandez reportedly gave her a blessing on her way out. She has not returned.

NOTE (scrawled in margin): We checked with Morticia the psychic. She said, and I quote, “She’s fine. She’s been writing. Also, Mercury was in retrograde for basically all of it.” — Det. J. Wendell, Esq.
█ KNOWN ASSOCIATES — PERSONS OF INTEREST
The following individuals are known to be connected to the subject and her ongoing creative operations in the village of Amatista, NM:
Emma Iverson Primary sleuth; heir to Little Tombstone; has a lot on her plate
Earp the Pug Ancient, irritable, inherited; considered armed with flatulence
Hercules Porcine companion; motives unclear; alibi: trough
Juanita Gonzoles Proprietress, Bird Cage Cafe; best tamales in a 50-mile radius
Hank Edwards Museum of the Unexplained curator; convinced this is a conspiracy
Morticia Resident psychic; already knows how this ends
Marcus Ledbetter Veteran; secret stock genius; not talking
Jason Wendell Only lawyer in Amatista; most eligible bachelor; no comment
Oliver Handyman; Australian transplant; probably fine with all of this
Nancy Flynn Rancher; Mayor; has already written two strongly-worded letters
█ PHYSICAL EVIDENCE RECOVERED
Item 1: Four (4) full-length cozy mystery novels
Item 2: Two (2) novelettes (one festive)
Item 3: Pug fur — extensive; everywhere
Item 4: Empty salsa jar, provenance: Bird Cage Cafe
Item 5: Suspiciously well-worn copy of Arizona history
Item 6: One lonesome glove (see: Case Exhibit 3)

The recovered novels are as follows, in order of discovery:

1. The Good, the Bad, and the Pugly — Novel. First known document from subject. Title pun should have tipped us off immediately.
2. Rebel Without a Claus — Christmas novelette. Found wrapped. Literally.
3. Lonesome Glove — Novel. One glove. Many questions.
4. Something Borrowed, Something Chewed — Novelette. Earp is a primary suspect.
5. Tamales at High Noon — Novel. Do not read while hungry.
6. Home on the Mange — Novel. Final known transmission before subject vanished into the ether.

CASE RESOLUTION

GOOD NEWS, CITIZENS OF THE NEWSLETTER LIST. Subject Celia Kinsey has been located. She has emerged from the creative wilderness bearing gifts: all six of the above titles, bundled together in one complete package for your reading convenience. This collection — dubbed “The Whole Enchilada: Little Tombstone Cozy Mysteries” — contains all four novels and both novelettes in a single ebook bundle. She is, by all accounts, unapologetic. Earp is also unapologetic, but that’s his baseline.

Investigators recommend immediate acquisition of said bundle. Little Tombstone has been waiting. Juanita kept the cafe open. Even Hank didn’t entirely believe you weren’t coming back — though he did add your name to a corkboard.

All 4 novels + 2 novelettes · One ebook bundle · Zero loose gloves
